Land Clearing in Marble Falls, TX: Lot, Brush and Forestry Mulching

Marble Falls is cedar on granite and limestone, with live oaks in the draws and Lake LBJ and Lake Marble Falls at the bottom of every slope. Lots along US 281 come to me at 50 to 80 percent ashe juniper canopy, and the rock is the second thing I price. Our crews drive up US 281 from the Johnson City yard, 25 miles south, and the 42-acre Blanco County job that brought a spring back sits between here and there. Fill out the form or call (832) 987-3495. Teo will call you back before the end of the business day.

Land Clearing Services in Marble Falls, TX

Pruitt Range & Brush provides land clearing services in Marble Falls, TX and the surrounding area from Johnson City, and every project is written as canopy percent, acres and days before the trailer moves. Residential land clearing here is a lake lot or a ranchette opened to the oaks for a house and a drive. Commercial land clearing services cover commercial sites along US 281 and the commercial development pads near RR 1431; commercial clearing of a granite pad is a day for the 300-hp machine. One land clearing company, three yards, one scope sheet.

  • Selective clearing and brush removal: cedar mulched in place, oak limbs left alone.
  • Tree removal of dead cedar and hackberry, then stump grinding; we grind the stumps flush at $4 an inch.
  • Site clearing and site preparation to a rough grade over rock, drainage cut to the natural draw.
  • Property clearing of lot lines and professional clearing of the shoreline buffer under LCRA rules.

My site work stops at the rough grade. No concrete, wells, septic or house demolition; the excavation and grading crews I hand to know granite. A professional land clearing service names its edge before its price. Tell Teo the acreage and canopy and I will give you the day count.

Lot Clearing for New Homes in Marble Falls and Granite Shoals

Marble Falls issued 148 single-family permits in 2025 by the Census Building Permits Survey, inside 734 for Burnet County, and the county does not require permits outside city limits, so the count understates the lots being cut in. The land clearing projects I take are one-acre to ten-acre cedar lots and the ranchettes behind them. A half-acre lot runs one skid steer day, $2,800. The 42-acre tract in Blanco County read 55 percent canopy when I walked it: six days with the 300-hp mulcher, $27,500 plus transport, and the spring below the stock tank ran again the next wet season. Granite and caliche add a day on anything bigger than a lot, and that day is in the quote before the price. Depending on site conditions we mulch in place and leave a 3-inch bed on the slope, or grub the pad and haul; the site visit decides. Residential and commercial properties get the same first steps: Texas 811, the plat for any pipeline or utility easement, and the LCRA line if the lot touches the lake. Property owners get the acres-per-day log clipped to the invoice. After a cleanup pass the crew will leave the site with the full site rough graded and site prep done, and we make your property ready for forms.

Brush Clearing and Forestry Mulching Near Marble Falls

Mulching is a land clearing method that uses specialized equipment to grind trees, brush and vegetation into mulch where they stand. On a Highland Lakes slope it is the only way to clear land that does not send soil into the lake or smoke over the neighbors. Burn bans here are declared by the county judge or commissioners court, and TCEQ outdoor burning rules govern piles the rest of the year; mulch needs neither. Cedar, which is ashe juniper, intercepts the first inch of rain in its canopy, and AgriLife research on mature stands ties that to dry seeps and bare ground under the trees. Under 10 percent canopy the seeps run again, and I measured that for twelve years before I owned a machine. Golden-cheeked warblers nest in mature cedar-oak canopy from March to July under TPWD and USFWS rules, so on our jobs here old-growth cedar runs August through February. Texas A&M Forest Service says no live oak wounds February to June for oak wilt, so the crew mulches cedar around the oaks without touching an oak limb then. Granite does not care what the dealer said the teeth were rated for. We remove brush in areas with dense regrowth first and thin to the motts, and I budget a set of teeth per 20 acres on this rock. Large acreage clearing of overgrown land runs $1,800 to $2,600 an acre at medium canopy and $3,000 to $4,000 in old growth, and cedar will overgrow a cleared slope from seed inside ten years without a bush hog pass.

How Much Does Land Clearing Cost in Marble Falls?

Land clearing costs in Marble Falls run from $2,800 for a half-acre lot to $27,500 plus transport for 42 acres of 55 percent cedar; in between, the number depends on the size of the tract and its canopy. Rock adds a day on Hill Country tracts, stated before the price. The land clearing Marble Falls landowners pay for, in writing before the trailer leaves the yard:

  • Skid steer mulcher: $2,800 a day, stems to about 8 inches, transport included within 60 miles of a yard.
  • Dedicated 300-hp mulcher with the 8 ft head: $4,200 a day plus transport. It handles anything on the tract.
  • Full clearing to dirt with grub, haul or pile, and rough grade: $2,000 to $4,500 an acre by density.
  • Stump grinding: $4 per inch of diameter, $175 minimum per stump. Lots with 10 or more are priced by the day.
  • Bush hogging: $60 to $90 an acre, $400 minimum. Grubbing with the dozer: $160 an hour with operator.
  • Haul-off: $650 to $1,200 a load, $1,100 minimum trip.
  • Cedar mulching by the acre: $900 to $1,400 light (under 30 percent canopy), $1,800 to $2,600 medium, $3,000 to $4,000 dense old-growth cedar or mesquite.
  • Marble Falls sits 25 miles from the Johnson City yard, so skid steer transport is included.
